*zap* --- Zap (or snap) to data

h2. Syntax
{panel:|borderStyle=solid|borderWidth=1|bgColor=#ffffaa}

*zap* _workspace\_grid_ \[*dif*] \[*adj*]

{panel}

h2. Description

Snap points to a grid. The points are given the value of the surface in the XY-position of the point.

One common use of this command is zapping to *sticky_surface*. Any grid can be assigned as *sticky_surface* and many display menus has a checkbox for *sticky* which means the display will stick to the *sticky_surface* using the *zap* command.

h2. Arguments

_workspace\_grid_

{indent} This is the name of the grid dataset in workspace
{indent}

*dif* \[*kop*]

{indent} The difference (or vertical distance) between the original z-value of a point and the surface is put in the scalars.

*kop*

Keep the original z-values of the points when using the *dif* argument.
{indent}

*adj* \[_adjustfactor_]

{indent} The *adj* argument enables to zap a little bit above the surface in order to display the zapped data (points and lines) without interfering with the surface. The _adjustfactor_ is default 0.2. An increasing value will lift the zapped data higher above the surface.
