Unknown macro: {alias}

Name

zap — Zap (or snap) to data

Syntax

zap workspace_grid [dif] [adj]

Description

Snap points to a grid. The points are given the value of the surface in the XY-position of the point.

One common use of this command is zapping to sticky_surface. Any grid can be assigned as sticky_surface and many display menus has a checkbox for sticky which means the display will stick to the sticky_surface using the zap command.

Arguments

workspace_grid

Unknown macro: {indent}

This is the name of the grid dataset in workspace

dif [kop]

Unknown macro: {indent}

The difference (or vertical distance) between the original z-value of a point and the surface is put in the scalars.

kop

Keep the original z-values of the points when using the dif argument.

adj [adjustfactor]

Unknown macro: {indent}

The adj argument enables to zap a little bit above the surface in order to display the zapped data (points and lines) without interfering with the surface. The adjustfactor is default 0.2. An increasing value will lift the zapped data higher above the surface.
The default value can be changed by: val g 418 adjustfactor
