Geocap divides the UNCLOS article 76 work into four parts:
Each part has a folder in the project manager. Maritime Lines contains the juridical lines, such as the base line, 200-Mile line, equidistant lines etc. Such lines can be imported into Geocap, or generated using Geocap. Seabed contains data such as the seabed surface, bathymetric profiles or other data concerning the seabed surface. This data is used in order to create the 2500 meter isobath, and may be used to define the foot of the continental slope. Sediment Data contains seismic data, velocity data, seismic interpretations and other sediment thickness data. The data in this folder is used to determine where the sediments are thicker than 1% of the distance to the foot of the continental slope. Outer Limit is used to collect the different limit lines generated in the other folders and combining them to a final outer limit.
