Providing debugging information

Our products writes detailed info about what they are doing to a windows log. This log can be viewed and written to a text file using the Microsoft program DebugView:

  1. Start DebugView. Geocap for ArcGIS: Geocap 3D Explorer toolbar: Help→Start Dbgview... You can also download it directly from Microsoft: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/debugview.

  2. Clear the log: DebugView: Edit→Clear Display

  3. Reproduce error. Even though DebugView is started from within ArcMap the error can occur in other software from us such as eg. the ZGYTool. 

  4. Save log to file: DebugView: File→Save As...    

  5. Send the log to support@geocap.no
