Graphics Window

Introduction

The graphics window is located in the center of the Geocap interface. This is where your data will be displayed so you can navigate in it. There are several ways to control the graphics window and the graphics items displayed in it. Some are described on this page, while others can be found on the page about the Main Toolbar.

The graphics windows plays an important part in display and algorithms. Many default display features uses the size of the graphics window to determine placement and sizes of layout and annotation. For instance geographical axes and scalebar display will be within the graphics window. Likewise will gridding algorithms generate a grid within the graphics window.

To see the graphics window push the Draw Frame icon on the toolbar.

Viewports can be connected and is a nice presentation option and also a method to visualize models that should be compared under the same view position, for instance testing parameters in gridding. When double clicking one of the small gray frames in the viewport menu, the desired number of viewport rows and columns are created in the graphics window.
Menu options:

  • Connect all viewports means that all viewports will have the same camera position and scaling.
  • New background colour means that each viewport will have a unique background color.
  • Draw viewport frame will draw a frame around the viewports.
