Introduction
Geocap has a plotting system utilizing the PostScript language. The plotting system enables you to create scaled maps containing axes, scale bars, contour maps, lines, points, legends and anything else you might need.
On your disk open Course B1/plot/Base Triassic1.pdf to see an example of a plot generated in Geocap.
It is also possible to export your graphics window, both as a 2D sceenshot and a 3D PDF.

Exercise
Open and run a saveset in the plotting system
- To open the PostScript plotting panel go to Tools > PostScript Plotting
- Click File > Read saveset
- Browse for the saveset in the plotting folder under the Course B1 project on your disk.
- Click Generate Draft
- When asked if you want to overwrite existing plot, click Continue
- When the plotting has finished click File > View Plot in Ghostview
Ghostview should pop up and show your plot.
Exercise
Save a screenshot of your graphics window
- Display something you want to save as an image
- Go to File > Save graphics as
- Type in a name and select a path for your image
- In the Filtype section select png
- Click Save
- You will be prompted with a dialog asking you about resolution. If you want to increase it type in another number for magnification.
- Click OK
Your image will be saved to disk
Note that pdf3d does not support graphic elements displayed with the LOD technique.
Exercise
Save a PDF3D of your graphics window
- Display something you want to save as a 3D PDF
- Go to File > Save graphics as
- Type in a name and select a path for your pdf3d
- In the Filtype section select pdf3d
- Click Save
Your pdf3d will be saved to disk
