Introduction

It is a good habit to regular check the data properties to see that everything looks fine. Although algorithms and menus should reject data that contain erroneous data, the user should also keep and eye on the dataset and secure the quality of the data. Data properties is shown using the entry data -> Properties for data reciding in a project.Image Removedby right-clicking a dataset and selecting Properties.

General

The General tab will give you details about the dataset, such as the data range, type, schema, memory size etc.

Commands

The Commands tab will tell you which command is default when clicking in the checkbox of the dataset. You can reset default to another command by using the icon Toggle Default Command on the toolbar.

Geodetics

You can view and set the the geodetics settings of your dataset in the Geodetics tab. Note that to convert the dataset to another coordinate system you will need to run a conversion command. Read more about Geodetic Conversion.

Custom

Custom properties are name/value pairs that are set by the user. Use custom properties to add additional information about a dataset. Custom properties are stored along with the project.

To add a custom property:

  1. Click New in the custom tab in the properties dialog
  2. Enter the property name and value
  3. Click OK

To edit a custom property:

  1. Select the property that you wish to edit in the custom tab in the dataset property dialog
  2. Click Edit
  3. Edit the name or property in the editing dialog
  4. Click OK to close the dialog

You can use custom properties to filter commands. In the command editor click the Filter button in the toolbar and edit the Filter by Property section.

History

The history tab may hold information about the source of the dataset and its history.

For example datasets imported from a file may list the original file name, and import date.
