Install and license Geocap 8.0.x and below

As of January 1st 2023 dongle and network licensing is no longer available for Geocap 8.0.x

  1. Contact support@geocap.no to get an installation file of Geocap version 8.0.x or lower

  2. Run the installation file Geocap-8.0.x-64.msi (Geocap-8.0.x-32.msi).

  3. Click your way through the installation wizard.

  4. Start Geocap8 - for example by searching for Geocap in the search field of the Windows taskbar.

  5. If this is the first time Geocap8 is running for this user on this computer, the following message appears:

  6. If a valid license is not available, Geocap8 reports that license request has failed:

  7. Select Computer locked / demo license and click OK:

  8. Click Install license file:

  9. Click Browse:

    Select the license file you have
    (If you don`t have a license file contact support@geocap.no)

  10. Geocap8 will report that the license will be handled internally:

  11. Click OK in this and the next dialog.

  12. Initialize license. Search for Initialize 8.0 in Windows. Right-click Initialize 8.0[.x] and select Run as Administrator. (You only need to do this once for a particular computer.)
