My LOD displays are not working properly. Why?

The LOD displays are generated in the graphics card (NVIDIA, ATI etc.), and the graphics card must have the capability of doing this. Most newer graphics cards have this capability.

But - even if you have an expensive, powerful graphics card in your PC, you may have problems with this. In many cases the graphics card uses more power than necessary for standard usage and are therefor by default set to Low performance/Low Power/Basic/Integrated graphics or something similar. And you may even have two graphics cards in your PC. Make sure that you through your Graphics card control panel sets "High Performance" or something similar for all applications or at least for Geocap. (NVIDIA).

For ATI Raedon it may be like this: 

  • Right-clicking the Desk-top > Graphics settings 
  • In the pop-up "Power"
  • Choose: Switchable Graphics Method
  • Choose: Select Graphics Processor Manually
