I have many foot of slope points. How do I collect them?

Foot of slope points which are a result after an analysis are stored as a child of an analysis. It is possible to collect foot of slope points into groups two ways

One-by-one:
  1. Right-click a foot of slope point and select Set as active foot of slope
  2. Right-click the next foot of slope point you want to append, and select Append to active foot of slope
  3. Repeat step 2. until you have appended all the points you want in the group.
  4. Right-click a folder where you want to store the new FOS group and select New > Workspace Data > FOS

You will now have a dataset called FOS, which contains your foot of slope points.

Collect all foot of slope points in a folder

Instead of changing the settings of the existing Append all lines in a folder command, you could create a copy of it, and rename the copy to Collect all FOS points in a folder and then perform the steps above.

  1. Select the folder containing the bathymetric profiles
  2. In the Toolbox right click the command Append all lines in a folder and select Edit
  3. Click Filters
  4. Tick the Filter by Schema checkbox and click Add
  5. Select the  Foot of slope filter and the  Generic filter and click OK
  6. At the top of the menu make sure that the Filter execution box is ticked and the Filter visibility box is not ticked.
  7. Click OK
  8. Click OK  on the command menu also
  9. Now run the command and notice that you have a dataset appendedData in the Workspace in the Toolbox.
  10. Copy this dataset into your project, rename it and set the schema to Foot of slope

You might have to specify the geodetic settings of the new dataset (Right click > Properties > Geodetics).
