How do I convert data to another coordinate system?

Geocap can convert datasets between more than 200 Datums, and 32 different projections and coordinate systems.

To convert a datset to another coordinate system:

1. Select the dataset you want to convert in your project.
2. In the Toolbox, go to the Operations folder under Share Commands.
3. Double-click on Convert to Geodetic, Convert to Mercator, Convert to UTM or Convert to other.
4. In the dialog that appears, select the datum and coordinate system (should be predefined if you selected Geodetic, Mercator or UTM).
5. Enter additional values, such as UTM zone, central meridian etc. Note that these options will be different for different coordinate systems.
6. Under Result select if the converted dataset should be created as a new copy in the project or overwrite the old dataset. We always recommend that you create a new copy.
7. Click Execute

You should now have a converted dataset. You can check this by right-clicking the dataset, click Properties and select the Geodetics tab.
