1. Getting Started

Introduction

This chapter will guide you through the process of downloading and installing Geocap as well as enabling the proper functionality.

When you have completed this chapter you should be ready to create a project.

Downloading Geocap

In order to download Geocap you need to have a user account on our website.

To create a user account go to http://geocap.no/user/register and fill in the form.

After some time you will recieve an email, saying that your account has been approved.

Go to http://geocap.no/downloads and log in with your username and password.
Download the installation file fitting your operating system.

Installing Geocap

For installing Geocap, please follow the Installation Guide

Starting Geocap

You can find the Geocap executable in the Geocap folder under All Programs in the Windows Start menu.

Enabling plugins

The first time you start Geocap on a new machine, a Geocap settings dialog will pop up. Select E&P (Exploration & Production / Oil & Gas), Seafloor or Unclos Art. 76 Toolbox (Shelf). If your license contains additional add-on's, select Custom to pick functionality.

Note that you can change the plugin activation later by Tools > Options > Plugins.
