Visualizing Points and Lines
Introduction
Standard Display comands for displaying points and lines are present directly by right click on the dataset or the folder holding datasets.
If nothing is displayed on a dataset a check into the checkbox will display the default display operation.
There are also many special purpose display commands under ...> All commands > Shared Commands > Visualization.
In this section:
Displaying points
Points are displayed by using the Display Points command. This command is set in direct execution mode by default and will therefore display the points in random color with a fixed size.
If you want to customize the way the points are displayed you need to right click the command in the toolbox and click Edit. In the command menu that appears you will be able to select display variations such as marker type, size method, color, color method, annotation and field data among others.
It is also possible to display points by using the LOD Points Display
You also have the option to display polydata individually or placed in a folder using Label Points. This command gives you more details concerning fonts, size, colors, annotation text, placements, sequence and frequency.
Displaying lines
Lines are displayed using the Display command. This command is set in direct execution mode by default and will therefore display the line in random color with a fixed width.
If you want to customize the way the lines are displayed you need to right click the command in the toolbox and click Edit. In the command menu that appears you will be able to select display variations such as line width and color. The Glue to Sticky Surface option lets you drape the lines on a terrain.
