Display Multibeam data

In this section:

Introduction

This command is executed from folders with schema type Multibeam and will display points data (soundings) from the selected datasets.

The Display Multibeam Data dialog.

The content of the menu

The command's menu is split into three tabs: Settings, Color Table and General.

The General tab

This tab contains the general buttons of a command in Geocap, including the Help button.

The Color Table tab

This tab contains the settings for color coding of the soundings data. Use this part of the menu to select a special color table or a fixed color range.

The Settings tab

The upper part of the menu contains the project name and the name of the active folder of type Multibeam.

The selection part:

  • Show soundings: Use this button to turn on and off the display of the selected datasets. Click the Execute button to perform the display.
  • Use colour range means that the dataset should be coloured by range, else the display will be mono coloured.
  • Use same range for all means that the depth colour range should be the same for all datasets.
  • Colour from means that the colour range should be taken from either the Z (depth), Backscatter, TVU or THU values. TVU (Total Horizontal Uncertainty)  and TVU (Total Vertical Uncertainty) will be calculated automatically first time a display of this is requested.
  • Use LOD means that the visualisation technique should be level of details; i.e. effective on large datasets.
  • Point marker size means that the size of the graphical marker can be controlled.
  • Point outline means that a tiny black line will be plotted around the point marker. Will give a better three dimensional view of the points
  • Show navigation: Use this button to turn on and off the display of the Navigation dataset for the selected chart(s). Click the Execute button to perform the display.
  • Show file name: Use this button to turn on and off the display of the name of the selected datasets. Note that this is a direct action button.

The Dataset part:

Select which Multibeam Survey line(s) to display data from.

Show Dataset properties: Click this button to get information about the Multibeam Survey lines in the active Multibeam folder.

Open Point Flag Visibilty Filter: Click this button open the Point Flag Visibility Filter dialog where is possible to show flagged and/or deleted multibeam points.

Scale to selected files:
Select to scale the display around the selected datasets.
